I haven’t published on here in a long time. Since 2022 I become a single parent to my 2 beautiful boys. No one tells you how hard being a single mum actually is and how much you have to actually sacrifice, no more job, no more going out meeting with friends, no more social life. Everything completely changes. Sometimes it’s for the better. Sometimes you have to work around it and situations. I’m going to be using this blog and also my tiktok to make some product reviews and recommend things that I either use for myself, boys or my home. Hopefully you can join me with future posts of updates on me and the boys and products reviews x x

Keeping children busy
Im struggling to keep Thomas happy and busy at the moment, as he can’t really go outdoors or even see any off his friends and he has really been missing nursery and pre school. So I ordered a ton of different arts and crafts supplies of amazon and made him a load of different busy bags, this is to also keep him learning and still educate him. I got all of these ideas from either Pinterest or from memory when I used to work in childcare.
I have also done Thomas a monday-Sunday route so that he does a different activity every hour and also made sure that he is doing something different every day also. This isn’t because Thomas gets bored very quickly and it also keeps me going knowing that he has fun activities to do. I have got a list of different arts and crafts to do that is age appropriate for him also ideas so when it is craft hour he can do that, he has saved some so that he can take it to nan and grandad when he is allowed to see them again.

Baby shower hamper
Last year I got invited to one of my friends baby showers, I wanted to think of something different when it come to taking a gift/presents. And since she is a first time mum I thought that there is nothing better then a hamper full of goodies for her and baby, that is all stuff that will always come handy if she either forgot or ran out of. I thought that it was such an amazing lovely idea and when I gave her the hamper she absolutely loved it also. There is so much different things that you can put in the hamper to help out mummies and don’t have to spend a lot just little bits with go far and help out so much.
Shampoo bars
So for my last few posts Iv mentioned about me doing my bit for the environment, trying different shampoos and washing my hair quite a bit. And Iv always wanted to try shampoo bars but not really known which brand to try if they are actually any good. So I thought why not give it a go, Iv been browsing around and looking at different ones first before I actually buy some to try. That’s when I come across soho soap company, I brought 2 different scents of shampoo, 1 conditioner and lip balm try. It’s all come with a complimentary tin to keep them in as well that you get to pick yourself, which is even better as will last a bit longer and keep them safe, they all smell lovely and so easy to use I will definitely stick to shampoo bars and stop buying bottles of the stuff. I will be ordering a lot more of there bars and trying different scents right now and hopefully you will all be tempted to try them out also and help the environment.
Reusable nappies
I wanted to try something different and do my bit for the environment just like everyone at the moment, as it is our kids future that is at risk so to do my bit I thought what a better way then to use reusable nappies. I was a little bit unsure at first and was really scared of using them but I just went for it, I washed them a few times before I used them to make them more absorbable and when Frankie hit 6 weeks I thought right it’s time to get them out. So I have been using them during the day only and changing them every 2 hours, I have a special nappy bin and every other day I will put them all in the wash.i have 40 so I know that I will never get low, 40 I know it’s a lot but when they have such cute designs and they are reusable I couldn’t resist. The brand that I am using is little and blooms they sell them on amazon and are really good I definitely do recommend them, as I have said I am only using them during the day as they do need changing every 2-4 hours and Frankie will sleep between 8pm-2am so he will wake up absolutely soaking wet and they aren’t that good during the night.so I do use normal nappies but at least I am still cutting down the use and only using 2-3 a day, I will definitely recommend people to try reusable nappies as they are definitely worth a try.
Shampoo and conditioner
With a new born baby it’s normal to get sick in the hair at least every other day, and my problem is I have really thick hair so I use quite a bit of shampoo to wash my hair and I’m going through so much at the moment. I thought that I would give body shop shampoo a go as I love body shop and their products, I used a little tiny bit first to see how it would go and it went a long way so I can see these lasting me longer then the others that I have previously tried. And it also made my hair all nice and fluffy,I am also getting some of the shampoo bars also to try as this year I have made a few changes to do my bit for the environment

Activities for long journeys
I always struggle when it comes to keeping Thomas happy when it comes to long journeys, he hates being in the car longer then an hour. And when we went back to Newbury to visit my family I knew it would of been hard as he starts getting frustrated half way through the journey. So just before we set of I found this lovely lady on instagram that puts all sorts of different activity’s in a bag, she does it all by gender and age so you will always get something suitable and what the kids will love. he absolutely loved it and was colouring in the books and sticking the stickers in the book while watching his cartoons. We have even left it in the car for when we go out for dinner or lunch as he doesn’t like waiting for to long when it comes to service. Definitely recommend if you are going on long journeys as it is truly a life saver
Cute subscription box
When i found out that there is subscription boxes for when you are pregnant I just fell straight in love and knew that I had to give it a go, I had to wait a fair while as you can’t sub till you are 28 or more weeks. But this was definitely worth that long wait they have put such loverly stuff in the box and the they put a lot of thought into it aswell. thomas is already reading the book as we are a big massive tractor obsessed family. He loves anything to do with tractors and diggers. I would definitely recommend this box to people I think that it is definitely worth the money and wait.
